If your children are avid readers, just getting started or need a little more encouragement, these woodland animals bookmarks will add fun and creativity to the experience.
Reading, coloring and crafting are calming activities. Our animal bookmark craft combines the three; making it a wonderful activity for incorporating a mindful moment into the day.
Arty Crafty Kids have a choice of five cute, hand-drawn woodland animals to choose from, including a fox, bear, bunny, raccoon and squirrel. Each are unique in design, easy to color and cut, and once assembled are happy to help keep a page or two safe between reading sessions.

Materials
- White Card Stock
- Marker Pens, or your preferred coloring medium
- Scissors
- Glue

The templates are available to members of the Arty Crafty Kids club.

Let’s Make A Woodland Animal Bookmark
Color in the Template
Using whatever medium your Arty Crafty Kids choose, color in all the different elements of the template.
Cut out all the elements of the Template
Carefully cut out all of the different elements of the template.
Optional Step – Color in the back of each piece of the Template
You can choose to skip this step if you’d prefer, but we think the bookmark looks great if it is completely colored in front and back!
Glue the arms on to the head
Using a glue stick, apply glue on to the tabs at the top of the arms. Stick each arm on to the bottom of the head piece.
Glue the tail on
Apply glue on to the tail and stick it on to the back of the main bookmark element of the template.
Fold the tabs on the bottom feet
Fold the side tabs over to creat a small flap.
Glue the bottom feet on
Apply glue to the tabs and stick them on to the back of the main bookmark element. The feet should fold around the side of the bookmark.
Glue on the Connector element
Apple glue to the bottom third of the connector element. Glue it on to the back of the main bookmark element.
Glue the head on to the Bookmark
Apply glue to the top third of the Connector element.
Stick the head on to the Connector piece and ensure it is not glued on to the main part of the bookmark. This creates the overhanging head and arms.
The Woodland Animal Bookmark is now complete!
Now you should have your very own adorable woodland animal bookmark, with overhanging face and arms to help keep your place in your favorite book!
