Arty Crafty Kids | Craft Ideas for Kids | Paper Bag Tiger Craft - A fun and interactive tiger craft for kids. Great for story telling and imaginative play #kidscraft #craftideasdforkids #funcraftsforkids #animalcrafts

We love interactive crafts at Arty Crafty Kids and believe that craft and play come hand-in-hand.  This Paper Bag Tiger Puppet is easy to make and will inspire playful minds, having the kids’ roaring in no time at all!

It’s the perfect craft for children working on their scissor skills and when paired with their favourite Tiger book (The Tiger who Came to Tea) or character (Jungle Book is an obvious example), the puppet can be used to bring elements of the story to life and enhance a child’s understanding of themes and texts in a fun and creative way.

This paper bag Tiger puppet forms part of a series we’re working on and also includes a Monkey, Zebra and Lion version (all with templates for ease).

Step 2. Cut large squares of cardstock or construction paper and glue onto the paper bag. This is to provide the bag with additional support and colour!

Make sure you glue the cardstock onto the side that the square bottom flaps up!

Cut off any excess paper/card.

Step 3. Trace the paw template onto paper and cut out.

Glue the paws onto the paper bag and add lines with a black marker.

Step 4. Trace the triangle templates onto black paper. cut out and glue onto the front of the paper bag.

Step 5. Cut a strip of paper and glue onto the back of the paper bag – this will be tiger’s tail!

Cut a small piece of yellow paper and add slits to create the appearance of a furry tuft.

Add this to the end of the tiger’s tail.

Step 6. Trace the mouth onto paper and glue them to the front of the paper bag.

Step 7. Add a black paper triangle to the mouth, either with a black marker or construction paper.

Step 8. Add further detail with a black marker.

Step 9. Trace the ears onto paper and cut.

Glue the ear pieces together and add them to the front of the paper bag.

Step 10. Finish off with a pair of eyes!
