Any Medium for Coloring
Let’s start by coloring in the fox template. You can use colored pencils or crayons if you’d like, but we love using paints for animal crafts. With paints, you can layer up color and use different brush strokes to add texture and depth to fur, and character to the animals face.
Once the main color is dry, it’s time to make that fox your own!
You could take a closer look at a real fox (on a picture, of course!) and try to copy some of the shapes and patterns you see in its fur. If you have freckles or big eyelashes, why not make a fox that looks like you?
Or just let your imagination run wild with color and pattern – the most important thing is that you bring some personality to your fox, and have fun.
Once your fox is finished and dry, carefully cut out the elements from the template. Then cut one strip lengthwise from a sheet of orange A4 card – it needs to be the same thickness as the rectangle eyes on the template.
Finally, cut two more thin strips of card, each three or four inches long.
Stick the rectangle eyes into the middle of the orange strip of card.
Turn your fox over. Now stick one of the thinner card strips vertically over the left eye – this will support your fox’s moving eyes. Stick the other strip in the same way over the right eye.
Now carefully slide the strip of eyes underneath the two thin orange support strips – be gentle!
Your cheeky fox is complete, so it’s time to have fun! Can you move your eyes the same way as your fox?!
