Let’s Make a Rocking Mother’s Day Card!
Before printing, set select ‘fit to page’ and make sure the printer is adjusted to accept weighted paper/card.
Step 1: Select a favorite coloring medium and color in the Mother’s Day Card template.
This is a great opportunity for Arty Crafty Kids to explore and play with different mediums and practice blending techniques.
The cards can be colored in ordinary crayons or coloring pencils.
If your Arty Crafty Kids fancy trying something different; watercolor pen brushes are great fun to use. Soft pencil pastels will also color the design beautifully.
Step 2: Carefully cut out all the card elements.
Step 3: Fold the rocking card element in half.
Step 4: Cut along the dotted line.
Find the vertical dotted line on the fold of the rocking card and cut a small slit into the rocking element – this lead to creating an interesting fold within the card.
Step 5: Open the card and exaggerate the nearly created hole and push solid middle line down into the card.
Step 6: Create folds along the top solid lines either side of the middle one by pinch along the edge.
Step 7: Fold the Mother’s Day card in half to enhance the indentation.
Step 8: Glue the flower and bow to the Mother’s Day card.
To personalize the card, Arty Crafty Kids can affix their photo to the flower’s face!
Step 9: Using the indentation fold, affix the ‘I Love Mom’ in any arrangement.
Ideally, the ‘I’ and the heart will sit above the ‘Mom’.
Once the Mother’s Day card is complete, encourage your Arty Crafty Kids to write a unique and personal message inside.
